Overview

The Daily Briefing was my second project at IBM, built alongside Task Agents. My manager asked us to define the positioning, experience model and concept design for an AI-driven start to the day in Maximo. The brief warned against simply making a better dashboard.

Health scores, failure modes and anomaly alerts lived in separate applications. Users pieced their day together by hand, and we did not have usage data to measure how long this took.

How might we tell each person what matters today, and why, before they open a single app?

Maximo users start each day orienting themselves across apps. The briefing replaces that with one view of what matters to their role and what changed, so they can act as soon as they arrive. Alongside task agents, we estimated this could save each user 55+ minutes a day, depending on the role.

“Most interns come in to learn something after a summer and not really do much, but you guys actually created projects that will be implemented in the next update of Maximo.” — VP of Asset Lifecycle Management, IBM
